Raven felt herself backed to the door as Damon stood in front of her as if to protect her. Before she could actually answer his question she saw turrets appear, one dropping down from above and one coming up from the floor. Damon reacted first, slicing the first with his sword and blowing the second away with his gun, leaving a dent in the floor. The lights were still flashing. More turrets began to appear from both floor and ceiling and, from the walls, more things began to come out, this time shooting lasers of some sort.
Moving quickly Raven jumped away from her original spot, bringing her hand up quickly and shooting an orb of shadow energy from her hand, hitting one of the turrets and shorting it out before it exploded. The next thing she did was direct her hand to one of the lasers, the laser being surrounded by her energy before pointing at another laser and destroying it. Using this laser she was taking out the others as quickly as possible, even taking control of another nearby and doing the same. She only hoped that Damon was able to take care of himself. Unfortunately she could not see the turret behind her taking aim right at her while she was busy with her side of the hall. |

Damon was going through the turrets, his Katana slicing through them like butter. the turrets on the other side being taken out, but not distracting him. He heard a mechanical noise behind him. Turning he say turrets coming from the doors. He grinned at the style of this security system. They knew someone could most likely take out the turrets and as a backup plan, when the person had their back turn they would be hit by the turrets behind him. This would have worked had it not been for his training, able to discern different sounds and where they were coming from.
The only problem was sit was right behind Raven, he didnt know if she would be fast enough to react and he didnt want to take that chance. He tossed his Katana up into the air and in a flash withdrew his tantou and threw it at the turret behind her just missing her and shot the other one with his gun, destroying it and creating a baby sized hole in it. |

Even distracted Raven managed to catch a glimpse of a blade flying past her as she turned to look behind her, having managed to get most of her side down. For a moment she was worried that it had been aimed at her, but the thought was completely demolished when she saw the turret behind her that had been aimed at her back. She nodded in thanks to Damon for watching her back before sending a blast of shadow energy at a laser ready to fire at Damon. Like the turret it also overloaded and blew up, leaving little behind int its place.
Raven looked down both sides of the hall then, finding nothing coming at them anymore, though the lights were still flashing. "Do you think that's all of them," she asked, her eyes glancing at the door again. She was more worried that if she tried the door again something else would be after them if it was not already activated and getting ready to attack. If it were actual people attacking them she might have better warning, being able to sense their ill intent and all, but with machines she could not really sense anything. |

Damon looked around the smokey hallway from where he was. He was closer to the other end now. Looking back at Raven, he shrugged his shoulders. "I doubt it but no sense in hoping for the worse. Lets press on and just stay on our guard. Could possibly be more security measures on the other side of the door too."
He began to walk down the hall back towards her. "Alright lets open this thing together. You take that side and ill go for this one." He forced his hand in between the seal of the doors. Getting himself ready to pull it open. Digging his feet into the ground, it would be best to do it like that instead of having one person in the center open it. In case something on the otherside was waiting to open fire or anything of that like. |

Raven nodded her head when Damon spoke. He was probably right and she had doubted that was all the security had to offer anyway. Considering they were trying to get to a large computer, which had to be important in some way if not the storage place for a lot of the information in the tower, she would be surprised if there was not anymore things to come after them. Hopefully there would not be anything too big on the other side of the door, she had not seen anything anyway. Of course it could just be programed to self destruct or something if an intruder gets to it, though hopefully not.
"Okay," she said with a nod, standing on her side of the door. She placed her hand on the door itself and focused her powers into the metal, surrounding it with dark energy. There was not so much resistance this time and when Damon started forcing his side open she did the same, backing closer to behind the wall as the door opened wider and wider on her side until it was fully open and she was safely to the side of the doorway. "See anything," Raven asked as she peeked into the room to try and distinguish something. |

Damon peaks his head around the corner, to check the area. All he saw was a room filled with computers, all across the walls and a main one in the center. Thats the golden egg they were looking for. He didnt seem to be activate but could hear a slight hum of electricity going through out the room. He didnt see any threats yet but didnt mean any could turn up as soon as they stepped into the room.
"Im still skeptical, I dont see anything but there could be a surprise when we step in. What do you think?" He turned to look at her. He was curious as to what else she could do with her powers. He also wondered was she well established as a person with super powers. |

Raven was watching the room carefully as Damon spoke, nodding in agreement with his skepticism. It seemed too easy once one got past all the turrets and lasers. Surely the tower's defenses would not give up quite that easily. "It didn't detect my energy when I scouted in here," she said quietly, "everything was inactive including the defenses in the hall." She looked thoughtful for a moment, turning her gaze back to the hallway instead. She was still discovering her powers bit by bit, so she was uncertain of what all she could do.
She did know how to move things, as displayed earlier, though. Holding her hand out she ripped one of the remaining, though broken, turrets from the floor and floated it over to the door with her energy. Looking back into the room she hurled the machine inside and waited. Nothing happened. "If there is anything I suppose that means it isn't motion activated and it doesn't seem to sense my energy... Perhaps I can shroud us with my energy and it won't sense us if there is anything there.. If it does though, we would have to be quick." Raven concentrated for a moment before some of her energy came out, surrounding her. She expanded it a bit to surround Damon as well from the other side of the door before moving closer to him. Thus far nothing was happening and nothing seemed to be triggered. She gestured him toward the room, indicating that he should go first so she could make sure that he stayed within the energy bubble. |

Damon nodded at her knowledge. He knew he would be fast enough if it came to defending the both of them. He looked down and noticed his tantour in the side. He pulled it out and examined it making sure it was good to go. He sheathed it back and kept his katana by his side. He looked from around the corner and examined more of the layout. it looked harmless but so did the hallway.
"Do what you have to do and lets test this theory out? Im glad we meet up dont think it would have been easy without you here." |

Raven looked into the room carefully while he spoke, tilting her head to the side a bit when he finished and holding up her hand into the room, extending her energy into it, forming a small hallway to the main computer of sorts. "It probably wouldn't have been so easy without you either," she said with a slight smile. Keeping her concentration she took a cautious step into the room. When she was halfway through the room she paused and looked around a bit, as if to make sure that it was actually safe. Nothing seemed to be happening yet and all seemed to be going according to the plan. She finished her trek across the second half of the room standing in front of the computer and looked behind her for Damon.
"So far so good," she said quietly, "there's a good chance that if either of us mess with this thing something will happen though.." After all, when she had messed with the door before, even with her energy doing it, the security system had still gone off. [/size] |

Damon walked into the projected corridor that she made for them. Getting a look at all the old computers. He took in the surroundings and looked for anything that could be part of the security system. He didnt want to put the girl in harms way again. He walked towards the main computer and looked at it. Thinking of how he should approach hacking into it.

Raven watched as Damon seemed to hesitate once he reached the main computer. He seemed uncertain as he looked it over, Raven studying the computer with him. It seemed quite dusty from being unused in so long. If she did not know better she would have thought that it was harmless and that if there were any security it would have been deactivated a long time ago. However, in light of the hallway, she knew to expect more. Still, there was no point in just standing around either.
"I can't keep this cloak up for too long," she said in caution, "if we're going to do this we should do it now." Raven had a nagging feeling that something was going to happen, but there was no point in coming this far to give up now. There was a sense of urgency coming upon her, though she was unsure from where. Looking at the computer she could see something partially hidden beneath a good layer of dust flashing in warning. "Fast flashing red lights are bad right," she asked, sounding a bit more like a girl of her age should, "because I get the feeling that we should be running or something.." She quickly dusted the spot off, finding a small screen underneath it that said the self destruct was activated. "If we're going to get this stuff you better download it or whatever so we can go," she said urgently. |

Damon looked at what Raven had pointed out and cursed. He had to gather himself, he was ecstatic to be this close to finding out about his predecessor. He then soon began to type on the keyboard trying to get it operational. He then pulled out a weird looking drive, that he inserted into a port he had just seen. "This will be faster if i can get the computer on but if not i can still extract the system. Itll just take a little bit longer."
He then began to type away feverishly, hoping that he would be able to access this old hardware. It soon booted up and should that it would take 2 mins for the files to download. He smiled to himself that he was one step closer now. "Ok now we got to figure out how long we have on the self destruct."

When the computer booted up a voice seemed to come alive in it once Damon finished fiddling with the thing. "Intruder alert, security defenses malfunctioning," it said, "threat unidentified, scan initiated." A red line scanned the room right after. "Energy type identified: Raven. Self-destruct paused." Raven felt her eyes widen slightly and her concentration slip at that, causing the energy to fall from around them and disappear. "Identifying.... Identification unknown. Not Raven. Self-destruct reinitialized." For a moment Raven was left speechless.
"That was a little unexpected," she managed to say, "did.. did you find out how much time we have left?" She had heard that one of these heroes had powers that sounded similar to hers, but she did not expect them to be so similar. It made her wonder if their powers were somehow related or something, perhaps they came from the same place. It also seemed odd that she would decide to call herself Raven before she ever really found out about this other Raven. Perhaps it was something akin to destiny, if she could ever believe in such a thing. |

Damon typed away at the keyboard looking towards the screen. He was trying to see if he could bypass the system and deactivate the self destruct. He wasnt really listening to Raven at this time. He heard the computer when it detected them and stop the countdown. That only bought them some time though. He soon saw somewhere that they still had a few mins and that the download was almost complete.
It was now time to develop an exit strategy. He looked around the room now seeing it in its full color of white. He couldnt tell which wall lead to the outside. If he could figure that out he would be able to cut a hole in the side to get them out. He looked towards Raven again and spoke to her. "We have enough time to figure a way out and thats it. So we gotta be fast. The download is almost complete, so we can figure out why the computer did all that."

Raven looked around the room, only finding the door they came in from. They did go a fair distance down the elevator shaft so they were probably underground somewhere. That would probably make things very difficult for their escape. The fastest way would probably just be the elevator shaft itself and to blast their way out from there once they reached the ground floor. It was really all she could think of unless they were just underneath the ground and could blast their way up.
"We went down the elevator shaft so we're probably underground right now. If you can do it fast enough we can look at the building schematics to see if we're anywhere we can blast our way out of or we can try to go up the elevator shaft again and blast our way out from there," she said, still looking around the room in case she missed something. |
