Maybe if he were a bit older and a little bit more menacing, it would almost appear as though he was up to absolutely no good. Of course, looks aren't always what they seemed and the least likely of possibilities was almost always the truth or at least that's how it seemed for the most part from Dmitri's own life observations. Either way, he was standing outside this rather spooky residence in the middle of the night for nothing else but to solve his own case of curiousness. For a man who was known to revolutionize technology as everyone knew it, Bruce Wayne was just a legend to a techie such as himself.
He actually wondered if he was somewhat like his father, though that probably wasn't true. After all, his father was a rather selfish man who just happened to be a bit greedy as well. Not to mention the press keeps finding him in his worst moments, but that's hardly relevant to the question that was being asked.
If only he had the opportunity to meet Bruce Wayne, get a feel for what he was like. After all, Dmitri was just wondering which way to go with everything. So, as he stood outside the gates of Wayne Manor, he simply kept pondering.

Emily was making her way home from school. As usual, she was walking home. She didn't have a driver, though this was mostly because she opted not to have one. She didn't have any worries about getting kidnapped or anything like that, even though she would be a prime target. She thought much too highly of her fighting abilities to find herself being kidnapped. She'd be able to fight her way out of anything.
However, on her way home, she saw someone standing outside of the gates which lead toward the Wayne Manor. Who he was, she didn't know. She hadn't seen him before. This was likely because she distanced herself from the politics of business. If he were older, she probably would have been a bit more suspicious, but as things stood, she felt he was only a child. Besides, she even if something did go wrong, she could easily beat him up anyway.
"Can I help you with something?" She asked as she approached.

The blond just simply stared up at the great mansion, trying to decide what his next move would be. However, someone was approaching and he had thought there wouldn't be a soul to bother him during his little expedition. Oh well, dreams never do seem to come true for him so why start now? Though, when he turned around, there was nothing more than a common girl standing before him. It was kind of strange to be one edge about a person his own age, not to mention it was a female at that.
"Hm?" The boy simply looked at the rather plain girl with a disinterested expression written upon his face. Who exactly was she and what did she think she could help him with? After all, she was a nobody, right? "Help me with something?" A sly smirk spread itself across his face as he looked directly at her. "Well you're not exactly my type though."
Playing games with unsuspecting victims was fun. Almost more fun than well....anything.

Obviously what he was suggesting wasn't what she had meant. If anything, what he had just said was slightly irritating and he had been evading her question. She turned away from him and continued heading toward the gate. She got ready to open it, however, before going through she turned back to face him once more.
"What I meant was... why are you standing outside of my house?" she asked him with a very short tone. She didn't want to hear another joke, that much was for sure.

It seemed as though he was beginning to annoy the girl a little bit, if not by his actual presence then by what he had said. Of course, annoying her wasn't his goal nor would he wish to annoy her further. After all, his goal was to meet Mr. Wayne rather than bother with talking to some hapless little girl who had not a clue who he was or what he was capable of. As far as he knew, her heart was still beating on a whim. But couldn't that be said for anyone who was around him at all times? Maybe, maybe not. After all, he wasn't really quite the malicious type.
"Normally girls don't really ask why a cute boy would be hanging outside their house. You must be one of those no nonsense type of girls." The blond simply shrugged at that, not really knowing what made this girl seem so on edge.
"I suppose I could be waiting out here for you. Or perhaps I came to see someone else. Maybe to see if Mr. Wayne still lives here. Then again, I can always keep it romantic and say I was waiting for you, miss." He always came off very cocky and seemingly charming at the same time, yet there was always a sinister thought lingering in the back of his mind. Even so, he wore that smile with such ease and it didn't look half bad on that face of his.

"You're funny," she said quite sarcastically. It truly was a bit creepy that he was standing out here looking at her mansion though. Perhaps he had caught onto the bat cave or something like that? The thought was in the back of her mind, but she definitely wasn't going to try to find out how much he knew. That would only open him up to more opportunities to find out whatever secrets they did have.
"Anyway, yes... My grandfather still lives here." she said to answer his question. What interest he could have in Bruce was baffling to her. He was retired and didn't really have anything to do with anything anymore. He had withdrawn into the mansion and rarely even came outside of it. It wasn't like he could possibly have any affairs to handle with this blond kid standing before her. Of course, depending on how soon he spoke, this would be the awkward moment with her standing here and waiting for him to leave.

The blond shrugged while letting out a slight grin. Her sarcasm wasn't greatly appreciated, but at the same time it made their conversation a bit more interesting. Although he didn't find her seeming lack of interest pleasing, he still thought her sense of humor was spot on for the most part. "Eh, I've been told I'm lots of things." All sarcasm and humor aside, he did have some business to attend to while he was at the Wayne Manor after all.
"The name's Dmitri Alexander Ashburn. Hm, since you're Mr. Wayne's granddaughter, you should be familiar with my last name." Of course she should, it was the same name of Wayne Industries' number one rival company. Living in Gotham City and not knowing that one fact would be like being totally out of the loop.
"I was hoping to see if I could have meeting with him to get some advice from a successful businessman. Maybe to get a gist of how he was able to become so successful." In other words, he wanted advice on how to be a better businessman for the corporate takeover of his father's company of which he had been planning for quite some time.

Perhaps she would have let him in if she liked him just a bit more, but where she stood now, she didn't particularly care for him, nor did she care to help him out. Bruce was retired, so he had no interest in business affairs, especially not with children, and he kept to himself enough as it was.
"Sorry, try sending him an e-mail," was all that she said to him before going past the gate. She closed it behind her then waved at him from the other side. She then began walking on her way to the mansion.

"Ouch. That's not very polite." The blond said as he continued to stand where he was rather than attempt to force his way in. After all, a man such as Bruce Wayne and his alright looking granddaughter must have bodyguards or guard dogs or some kind of ruthless security measures. There was just no need of showing off yet, not when he went to so much trouble to seem normal to the world.
A slight twinge wriggled into the back of his mind, causing him to raise an eyebrow for a moment. "Kind of strange that a retired man and a little girl would have some pretty intense hardware inside of their home." Of course, he had to exploit his ability to get himself in somehow. He may have been able to sense the advanced computers all the way outside, but beyond that nothing else. He certainly was much too far to access them, however for him to sense them at that distance they must have been quite impressive.

Emily stopped walking momentarily after hearing his accusation concerning the hardware inside of their home. Granted, she knew they had a lot of advanced technology, and much of said technology was actually inside of the batcave. He couldn't know about the cave though, could he? It was doubtful. Maybe he was trying to get her to tell him what they did have. It wasn't uncommon for a criminal to try to find out what of interest a target would have before hitting it.
"Well, this is the place where the family of Wayne industries live. You couldn't expect much less," she replied simply. Still, the thought lingered in her mind that perhaps he was already somewhat suspicious about this being Batman's residence. It had happened before. Tim Drake had figured out who batman was by his own logic alone in the past prior to him becoming Robin.

"I suppose that's true." He did find it funny how she didn't question how he knew of the technology within gates of their manor. Normally one would be thinking about that or asking about it. Then again, there probably wasn't anything to special inside her home anyway. Though, the fact remained that he didn't want to be left outside, not being able to accomplish his goal.
The blond frowned playfully at the girl as she tried to leave him. "C'mon, don't leave me hangggginnng." Dmitri exaggerated his speaking a bit to sound more playful and a bit more desperate than he truly was. A second later and he had an interesting idea. Everyone had cell phones on them...even...yes...she did as well.
Maybe a little message would do the trick. He'd simply tell the phone to display a message for him across the entirety of the screen while setting off an extremely obnoxious notification tone. It would read, "You should let him in, he's a pretty nice guy" in large letters. A slight smirk slid across his face as he stood there and waited for a reaction.

Emily suddenly felt something vibrating in her vest pocket. She reached up into it and pulled out her cellphone. It was then that she read the message. She looked back at Daedalus. It was a rather peculiar message that she had received. Had he sent it to her? Her phone was just blank. It wasn't like an ordinary message in any way. Had he done this?
Emily closed her phone and set it back into her vest pocket. She crossed her arms and turned back to face him. She crossed her arms skeptically. It didn't even seem possible that he could have programmed her phone to display such a message on his own so quickly.
"You did this?"

The blond didn't exactly see where he was going with this, but it did indeed hold her interest and kept her from walking away from him. If anything, his plan was a partial success so far and all he had to do was keep her interested and captivate her with his abilities. He'd have this girl eating out of the palm of his hand and he'd get exactly what he wanted from her.
As a response, he simply shrugged, yet kept smirking at her. With that, the previous message would fade out from the screen and a new message would in its place. "Nope. Definitely wasn't me." Dmitri chuckled slightly as the loud notification tone went off once more, alerting the girl of the new message.
