Robin and Flash had just left a movie theater not too long ago from where they had seen the most ridiculous comedy of all time. However, shortly after leaving, they heard on the news about this entire mask incident. quickly, they suited up and left for the scene which was the forest the Mask had disappeared in.
Robin knew full well what could happen if this mask fell into the wrong hands. If it did... well, that wouldn't be good at all. Such incredible power couldn't go to a villain, and though the last villain who had tried to use it had been rejected by the mask, there was no certainty that it would reject all villains.
"Maybe it was just destroyed in the explosion," Robin hypothesized as she walked alongside Kid Flash. While it was possible that was true, it was better safe than sorry, They couldn't take the risk of the bad guys getting their hands on it.

Hawkgirl swooped low over the forest, circling. Her sharp eyes scanned the forest floor, looking for a gold helmet. Well, she didn't really expect to see it- it was a small thing after all. But what she did see was an area of destruction- shattered tree limbs lay everywhere. That probably had something to do with the Fate helmet. She spread her wings and dove down, tucking in her wings when necessary to avoid hitting tree tops. The fact that there was enough of a clearing for her to fly this low and land safely was a testament to how large the blast had been.
Several times since she had gotten the metal harness, Erin had found herself in conflict with Hawkgirl. Usually it involved the urge to take on armed thugs or something like that. But in this pursuit the two personalities were agreed on the retrieval of the Fate helmet. Erin could tell from Hawkgirl's dread that something bad would happen if those of ill intent got their hands on the helmet- and plus, it was a historical artifact, so Erin was salivating in a majorly nerd way to look at the helmet in person.
Even though she knew that Hawkgirl was really a part of her, that it was her, in fact, she still refused to believe it on some level. She had done fine without Hawkgirl for most of her life, so the memories of past lives unnerved her. It felt like her experience in the Egyptian tomb had taken away a chance for a normal life, rather than making her life complete. Was there really a chance that she could have gone through life without finding that Egyptian tomb?
Hawkgirl landed and the wings retracted with a thought. They fell into their position at her back. She scanned the forest again. Voices behind her caused her to turn her head. Two youths in brightly colored costumes were going through the forest. One was a boy and one a girl...both probably in their teens. Oh, great. Wannabe superheroes. She snorted. She supposed the world could use the help, and all heroes were once amateurs, but still....
She recognized the costumes. Robin and Kid Flash. It was Robin, wasn't it? Bruce had never taken on a female apprentice before, so she wasn't sure.
"Maybe WHAT was destroyed?" Hawkgirl asked, her tone derisive. If they were talking about the helmet, that was wishful thinking. The helmet had survived explosions, bullets, natural disasters, and time itself. Kind of like her, if she thought about it. There was no way to destroy that damned helmet.

Leaving the movie theater with her was suppose to be a good time, until the news. Seriously, everything was just a bummer in this place. Getting geared up was a flash....Pun intended.
As they arrived on the scene tilting his head at all the destruction. "And here I thought it would just be another boring night...."
He rubbed his cheek. "...We really can't get any time to ourselves..." He chuckled a bit. Hearing Robin explain that maybe it was destroyed. "Perhap's..." He had never seen 'magic' in his life, all magic he seen was just slight of hand tricks meant to amuse the general populace, and originally meant to steal their money. He doubted anything such as a mask could do any damage so this was just another stupid trip... However, hearing someone else he turned to look at the place the sound originated from - there flapping it's wing was another person... "Well, Hello there..." he said in a rather flirty tone. Winking at the girl who had just arrived with weird wings. "And who my pretty bird might you be?" He said commenting on her wing's. He couldn't help himself, she was quite the looker - although older then him he didn't worry much. "....Some helmet or whatever, said to give the magic of pulling rabbits out of their hats." Looking her over a bit, for a moment he had forgotten about Robin being right next to him - Old habits died hard he guessed... Robin turned as the new woman came and joined them. She had strange wings making her appear as though she was possibly some kind of angle, thoguh Robin highly doubted that. She didn't exactly believe that was possible. Most likely she was some kind of metahuman. It was a much more reasonable explanation to Robin.
Still, Robin turned her head to hear Kid Flash start oogling the Hawkgirl. It was rather irritating, but she wouldn't say anything about it right now to express her irritation.

Static was sitting on top of a rooftop while enjoying a delicious hot dog, when he decided to check the police broadband for any disturbances that might be occurring. He overhead about the theft of a certain helmet of power, which he knew needed to be recovered as swiftly as possible. Downing the hot dog in a hurry, Static took to the sky in the direction of where the chad was supposed to have ended and the real event was about to begin as the helmet was not something to be played with on any occasion, which is why it had been put away until its new wearer was found.
It was not hard to find the exact spot of where the chase had ended as the signs of the mask rejecting someone was probably equal to a small car bomb going off. Static was glad that it hadn't chosen to accept the person who had put in on as that would have been very bad. Even a novice to power could still use the Helmet of Fate to wreak havoc on the world. The second worse thing that could happen is if a normal person happens upon the helmet and puts it on to become the next Dr. Fate, which is not as bad but it is also not good. They were sort of easy to corrupt especially if they were someone who is young and impressionable.
As Static descended upon the scene, he could hear the voices of at least two individuals talking about what was going on. It appeared they were discussing the object in question, but the explanation he heard form the male voice was not one that was completely accurate. He hovered over to the group to see who all was going to be assisting in the search for the helmet as this was definitely going to take more than one person.
He came up slowly upon the group and tried to identify each one by some sort of insignia. There was the latest protege of the Batman, a new Kid Flash who he hoped was not a speedster who liked to rush things, and a girl with wings which looked familiar, but he was too old to make assumptions like the one in his head. "I do believe that you mean that it has the power to bestow upon a chosen individual tremendous powers of sorcery as well as make them one of the, if not the, most powerful beings on the planet."
The one good thing about being old was the fact that Static had some experience with certain areas like this. It was too bad that only a bunch of kids had responded to this situation. He felt like a real old timer with all of them around, but beggars couldn't be choosers about the type of help that they got. Especially since he used to be one of these youths that was trying to make in the superhero world.

Hawkgirl snorted and rolled her eyes. "I'm probably about a decade older than you, kid. And that mask does more than allow you to perform minor magics, unfortunately." She could tell he was skeptical, and Erin understood. She hadn't believed in magic either. But Hawkgirl did. And Erin had to admit that her harness was either very advanced science or magic.
She glanced towards the newcomer, unsure of whether he was friend or foe. He seemed the most informed about what the helmet was capable of, though. "You forgot to mention the part where it ruins your life and can drive you insane," she said dryly. Erin knew how that felt- she had a harness on her back right now that proved it.
"And if any of you kids try to don that helmet, I will hit you so hard that there won't be any mind left for the helmet to interact with. Those of you that have brains," she said, glancing toward Kid Flash.

Looking to the old man as he tilted his head and chuckled waving his finger's as if he was casting a spell. "oooooh...scary"
He chuckled louder as he shrugged. "There is no such thing as magic, it's been proven - Sorry old man" Looking at the winged-angel as he smirked a bit. "And still beautiful" He flirted to the girl. Rolling his eye's "Could be the material the mask is made out of, after all - Look what they found about the oracle of Delphi....ooooooh magical..." Cracking yet another joke about the magic. "...If it's SOOOOO Magical and powerful - Why was it in a musem in the first place? " He smirked looking at the girl's harness. "You should really let me check you out" He winked a bit playfully before finally looking toward's Robin - He could read her eye's... She was about five second's away from killing him as he nervously chuckled rubbing the back of his head. "...Definately meant let me check the harness....Not you" He said quickly hoping that it would cool down Robin's temper. He had made enough enemy's recently and really really didn't need to piss off a girl with access to an arsenel of weapon's and a very rich and powerful uncle.... yeaaaaaaa. "pfft, trust me - Seen the thing, not only is it hidious it would most likely just be something to scare people with..." Looking toward's his watch as a red light came on. Reaching in a bag that was on his back and grabbed an apple quickly taking a bite out of it. "Hey hey, don't be hating on me You only WISH you had a beautiful brain like mine, But you do have beauty on the outsi-ermm... Beside's You can't exactly catch me..." He stuck his tongue out at the girl hoping his next flirt went undetected by Robin but the odd's were slim to none on that one. Apparently Robin was the only one who was taken by shock that a legend had just descended from the heavens next to them. Granted, she knew two legends herself, but they were family, so it didn't feel like anything spectacular. But next to them now was Static, one of the veterans from the Great Catastrophe. She stood in awe.
"St-Static..." Quickly, she tried to shake it off, after all, a real super hero wouldn't be shocked by even so much as a legend gracing her presence. She turned back to her Flash who was still talking with the Hawkgirl, and apparently flirting with her. Robin reached down and held his hand, trying her best to s mile, thuogh after hearing him continued to flirt, she began to squeeze his hand much tighter.
"Anyway... So what do you guys plan to do if you find the mask?"

The eldest female was quite accurate in saying that those who were attracted to the helmet usually had chaotic lives, which was ironic since Dr. Fate was supposed to be a being of order. It was also fun to watch as the speedster tried to think of a logical excuse to how the helmet was able to grant such powers to mere mortals, and Static wondered how long before it dawned on this Kid Flash that magic was not something that one could disprove.
The boy continued on to try to flirt with the older woman, which Static expected from him as he was a youth who was filled with hormones that were probably going to get him in trouble. "While most people tend to agree with you about the idea of magic, I have dealt with the users of magic as well as the former Kid Flash. He also didn't believe in the existence of magic, but he was still wise enough to know that the dangerous powers that come with the title of Dr. Fate were very real. It is a idea that you can open you mind to as well. "
The mentioning of his name caught his attention. He looked over at the young girl who had said it before posing a new question. "If I find the helmet, then I am going to find it a new resting place until the next person to hold the title of Dr. Fate is chosen. That is what I shall do, Robin. I assume that is what you three are planning to do, right?"

"Never mind. It appears that at least one of you already has no brains to bash in," Hawkgirl said with a glare at Kid Flash. Now you're starting to sound like Carter, Erin thought- then realized she had never known a Carter in her life. That sent chills down her spine. That had been Chay-Ara's thought.
Hawkgirl nodded to the older black man. He looked familiar, but she couldn't place him. Having two different minds was a real bitch. She couldn't decide if Chay-Ara knew him or Erin did.
"Well, that sounds sensible enough," Hawkgirl said. Or was it Erin? She shook her head- now wasn't the time to be wrestling with her identity issues. She shot another look at the young boy, wondering if he really had the Flash's power and how he had obtained it. He certainly had Wally's womanizing down pat, that was for sure. Whether he would grow to have wally's brains remained to be seen.
"C'mon, let's look for that helmet," Hawkgirl said, marching forward and scanning the ground with keen eyes.

OOC: We're moving pretty slow, so I'm going to go ahead and keep this moving. Static or Kid Flash next please. Robin was already pretty sure that they weren't going to keep the mask. Everyone here seemed relatively honest. She trusted Kid Flash, so there wasn't even any reason to ask her. She knew of Static by reputation. He wouldn't do anything like that. The only person whom she didn't know well was the Hawkgirl. Still, so long as Hawkgirl was around one of them, they wouldn't have to worry about it, right?
"Good. So we're in agreement. No one puts the mask on. We're just going to find it a new safe place," Robin finally stated in hopes that the rest of the crew would agree with her. Aside from that, they were all ready to get moving.
"We should split up to cover more ground, I think. What about you?"

He blinked as the old man started talking about magic. He would have said something longer but honestly - An old man and a sexy flying chick was hardly enough to give him solid proof. His eye's narrowed on the Sexy flying chick as she mentioned no brain's. "...Hey, Why don't you come down here and try it"
He growled a bit, as the girl pretty much call him stupid. LIstening to Robin as she spoke, a soft sigh escaped him - obviously he wanted to try on the mask since it was forbidden but slowly nodded. Whatever, the thing was ugly anyway's. Before she even finished her sentence, Kid Flash was gone in a blur scanning the area around them. However, having such speed in rough terain like this was kinda hard so he coulden't move at full speed...Meaning he coulden't show off as much as he wanted to for both the girl's. Static now knew what the older heroes had to put up with when he was a youth. These kids were sending back 'smart' comments like it was growing out of style, which probably meant that he should intervene. Then again, a couple of snide remarks never hurt anyone. In fact, it probably built character in today's young people, which is something that one of them in particular needed..
As Hawkgirl started there search, Robin made the suggestion that they split up, which Kid Flash took as an order as he sped off. This was looking up to be a bad situation, which was only going to be rectified by his involvement. "Normally, I would also make that suggestion, but we have no idea of knowing whether the helmet has activated any natural defenses to keep it safe from evil. It is much safer if we stick together until we are sure of the situation." He had said this loud enough for everyone to hear unless the speedster's ears were not used to hearing while moving so fast. Static wasn't sure if the helmet was capable of such a thing, but he also knew that the first rule of going into a situation was to expect the unexpected.
He tossed out his disc with a charge and began gliding forward, while keeping his eyes peeled for the golden helmet. "Make sure to point out the helmet when you spot it, and I'll put lift in a field of energy so that none of us will have to touch it." A small safety precaution in his mind to make sure that no one touched the thing.

Hawkgirl cocked her head. She didn't know anything about the helmet having "defensive mechanisms" and Chay-Ara couldn't recall anything specific either. That didn't necessarily mean that Mr. Lightning didn't know what he was talking about.
"I think someone was already out of hearing range, by the time you started speaking," Hawkgirl said with amusement. She had been impressed to see that the kid really did have super-speed. Maybe that would help keep him alive if there really was any danger awaiting them in these woods as they searched for the helmet.
She would have preferred to follow the Kid Flash's example, but even if Mr. Lightning was wrong about there being defense mechanisms in the helmet, other individuals with more malevolent intentions than this group might be looking for the helmet as well. Hawkgirl sighed and started forward. Her normally sharp eyesight was weakened by the faint illumination, but still better than any human's.

OOC: Sorry guys. Didn't realize it was my post. People gotta tell me if I'm not posting so I don't screw up like this. Don't be patient. TELL ME! Robin still didn't like that they weren't splitting up. She thought they'd cover much more ground that way, but also on the positive side, they had Flash with them, and he could cover the grounds at the speed of sound which was quite impressive in his own right. They didn't need each other for this, and it was somewhat going against what she had learned at the Wayne Manor.
At the same time, Robin also felt a bit left out right now being that she was the only one here who didn't have a power. The other two were flying, and Kid Flash was moving so much faster than she was. It was relatively depressing. She had nothing to say on this matter however.
