Damon wasnt getting anywhere really with his search. Checkmate was on his tail and if he didnt make a name of himself he would disappear back into their void. He didn't want to be apart of that blackness anymore. He wanted something for himself and not for them. They used him as a tool of destruction he wanted to be a tool of re-purpose and of help. So he came to Gotham in search of more candidates, and to learn more of what he could about the past.
He jumped from building to building, scanning the streets and alley ways. He was shocked at how calm this city seemed to be. He figured there had to be someone's hand in keeping this place so peaceful, just who or whom. He jumped across and intersection and landed on top of a warehouse that was long the pier. He looked into a skylight on the roof of the warehouse, and looked inside. It was dark, so he opened one of the windows and dropped in. Switching his scanners to night vision, he saw no one.
"Guess Ill make this my temporary base of operations. They need to get a lab out here. Might ask Dr. Charles to make a request for it."
He took off his katana from his back and laid it on the ground in front of him. He lowered himself to the ground and sat cross legged to begin his meditation. He needed a more clear head to continue his search.

To the casual eye, this area of Gotham looked safe enough. To someone who had grown up in Gotham, however- someone like Canary- the city teemed with dangerous shadows. Those shadows were predators waiting in dark alleyways for unwary prey.
Those shadows, however, were looking on the street level. When they heard noise above them and saw a man in metal armor leaping from rooftop to rooftop- their expression were, understandably, a mix of confusion and fear. Some made empty promises to themselves that they would stop drinking, smoking, or shooting up in order to be rid of the hallucination.
But it was not hallucination, for the very sober Canary saw the figure as well. She was moving along rooftops as well, but sticking to the shadows just as the pickpockets and muggers did. She decided to follow this strange figure and try to learn who he was and what he was up to.
She tracked him to an abandoned warehouse. What was he doing there? Something sinister? The closer she got, the less the armor looked like shining white knight and the more it looked...well, menacing. She shivered.
She took her grappling hook and used it to propel herself to the warehouse rooftop. There was a skylight that she glanced into. Well, he didn't seem to be packing guns or drugs, nor was he making bombs...but the armor did look suspicious.
Behind her, someone was watching the watcher. A team of men dressed in Kevlar and armed with high-tech weaponry. One looked through a pair of binoculars, then handed them to another man. "Sir we have an unknown individual involved. Should we proceed?"
The other man looked through the binoculars. "Proceed, Sergeant. We were told not to expect independent help. Take that one in as well."
A blast of energy hit Canary, knocking her through the skylight. She fell to the floor, twitching in response to the stun ray she had been shot with. She moaned and stirred.

Damon sensed before he heard, a commotion happening on the roof. He opened his eyes just as a body of a female landed a little ways in front of him. Quickly getting up, he ran and checked her pulse. Keeping his eyes on the skylight, he knew something was off. He picked the body of the female up and noticed her metal gauntlets. He shrugged the thought off for the time being and brought her to a dark side of the warehouse, away from the skylight.
He began to check for injuries, as her twitching subsided. She could have a broken rib, but other then that she seems fine. He was thinking to himself, but then said out loud. "Now the question is what were you doing up there and how did you fall?" He hoped that his temporary home hadnt already been compromised, but he would of had to relocate the next day anyway.
He stood back up from after crouching next to her and tried pushing his senses out again. Atleast he knew no one was in the warehouse, except for them. Just what to do right now, and what if they have come to take him in. Would he be able to protect her or was she one of them? Damon only developed more questions with still only a few answers. This new life path is going to be a learning experience as if he was a baby learning to walk.

"Behind...you." Canary managed to croak out. Some kind of stun blaster. So whoever had shot her didn't want to kill her- just capture her. That was good news, she supposed. Of course, she would rather have people not trying to kill or capture her. She wondered who it was that was after her.
The men that had come after Damon kicked in the door and barging into the warehouse. They leveled the stun blasters at Damon. The man in charge of the team strode forward confidently. He was Caucasian, with brown hair and handsome features but a stern look to him. Especially now, with his frown.
"Okay, Damon. You've had your fun. Time to go back to Checkmate. Come on, don't tell me you thought we were giving you all those cybernetic upgrades for free. You thought Checkmate did that out of the goodness of their hearts? Think again. Those upgrades are Checkmate property...which means you are Checkmate property. Now are you going to come along quietly?"
Huh, Canary thought. So they weren't after me. I was just in their way. How...insulting. Plus, she was pissed about some jerk just firing a stun weapon at her for no apparent reason. She intended to put them in their place.
She didn't know who these men were. Maybe they were the good guys. But they had ticked her off and seemed to be of the philosophy of "shoot first, ask questions later." That made them a problem for Canary. She reached a hand toward the button that triggered her gauntlets. It felt like she was fighting her body every step of the way as she performed that simple motion. She wasn't ready to fight yet...but she could make these boys have a hell of a bad day.
She hit the button, and a sonic blast rang out. She hoped the blast didn't hinder her circumstancial ally as much as her unknown assailants, but there was no helping that. She had designed her weaponry for a solo act...but it seemed she kept running into people she didn't want to give a headache too. She really had to get some new weapons.

Damon flinched as a high pitched sound rebounded through his head. He knelt down and shook it off. Seeing the men there he knew one thing though. They were there to take him, and that this girl could possibly be with them. First thing was first though, He had to get to his sword. Since none of them couldnt hear he knew this would be easy for them. They werent trained to adjust to certain situations like him. Without hearing they were done. He didn't need to utilize it unlike them. He was able to blend into the shadows.
Damon just up to the rafters disappearing into them. Waiting for the response, he noticed his Katana was in the middle of them. First though he had to take out the leader which would be like cutting the head off of a snake to the insertion team. He jumped down from the rafters and silently landed in the middle of them all. Which was pointless since they still couldnt hear, but it was a habit. He rose up and took out two of the soliders. One a kick to the side that sent him flying and the other with an elbow to the gut dropping him to the ground. Scoop up his Katana he tackled the leader as the disappeared into the darkness.

Canary was glad to see the armored dude- he looked more like a robot close up- was taking advantage of the distraction she had provided him with. He began moving almost immediately- but not toward the men, as she would have liked. She cursed. He moved upwards- anandoning her? No. It seemed he had a sword hidden up there in the rafters. She was amazed that he could jump high enough to reach it, though. The metal man landed in the middle of the team. The men with guns began to spread out, trying to put more distance between them and the sword-wielding guy. But it might already be too late for them...depending on how good that guy was with his sword.
(OOC: you realize the guys can still SEE right? So unless Cy can turn invisible, I don't see what you're referring to in your post.)

Damon knocks the leader out and looks at the remaining guards as the try to spread out more. He just stands up straight still gripping his katana in his left hand. He waits for them to make the first move. See who the first to be taken out is, for itll be the first to open fire. He stole a glance at the girl as she still laid on the ground. I guess he could count her as on his side for now. Question was how did Checkmate find him so fast, and if they were here already then he needed to act faster with his plan. ((OOC: I was thinking since it was in a dark and abandoned warehouse that it would be hard to see. even with his quickness its hard to see, if they have equipment but u didnt say if they had any. ))

(OOC: okay, I was kinda assuming they had night vision goggles. I was afraid you thought Canary could somehow blind enemies as well. Maybe she should get get to work on that, though...anyway, thanks for clearing things up.)
"Get him! He's only one man with a sword!" the leader shouted. His opponent had broken the man's nose, which made the words come out strange and muffled. But otherwise intelligible.
On the ground, Canary snorted at the man's bold words. She was just one woman with no sword, and she routinely took down thugs who outnumbered her and had guns trained on her. It was extremely hard, but it was indeed possible. She hoped Metal Man would really kick Mr. Stungun's ass. Then she needed to figure out what the hell was going on.
She managed to struggle to her knees and shake her head. The stun duration didn't seem to be very long- maybe it was just a prototype or something or it was on a low setting. Still, being out of the fight for just a few seconds could really change the outcome. She managed to slowly struggle to her feet. Still looked like most of the attention was on Mr. Metal.
Blasting her was their first mistake. Ignoring her would be their last.

Damon looked back down as the leader gave an order. He grinned at the fact that they were doubting his ability with his Katana. He kicked back into the leaders gut giving him more pain to worry about then orders. He pushed the his Katana slightly out of the sheath so he could make a quick draw with it. He didnt want to seem to eager with taking these guys out. He just wanted to take the leader out before he could actually control the situation.
The grunts was the deadlier ones but also the ones more inexperienced with his type of prowess. He noticed the girl finally made it to her knees atleast. He wondered what else she had, not that his hearing was coming back alot more. He stepped back and over the leaders body.

Canary managed to get to her feet just as Metal Man drew his sword and kicked the goon leader in the stomach. She actually saw him knocked down and tossed back a bit. Ouch. That was heavy armor.
Personally, she would have preferred it if he had just stabbed the guy. No need to be a gentleman just because there's a girl in the room, she thought. She didn't relish the idea of seeing someone get disemboweled, but she'd rather be sick to her stomach than dead. You could recover from the former of those two, but not the latter.
She counted the baddies. Four, counting the leader who was struggling to get back to his feet. One of them turned toward her just as she clocked him in the face. She felt his nose shatter and he collapsed to the ground, probably out for the fight. Her gauntlets were heavy.
The next guybegan to swing his rifle toward her, but she smacked it back down with her palm. She backhanded him and tore the rifle from his hands. He took up a combat stance, pulling a wicked looking knife and settling into a fighting stance. Canary bobbed and weaved out of the way of his strikes, but the guy was good. Mr. Metal was going to be on his own for a couple more seconds at least.

Damon saw now that the girl was finally up and fighting as best as she could. He grinned at he fighting style, it was a little elegant but the guy she was fighting had only experience on her. He turned his attention back to the other one, as the leader was still trying to get his mind on the right track.
The man opened fire one him and he quickly drew his blade, deflecting the shots that came towards him. In Quick succession, he was deflecting the automatic fire and moving towards the man. He had to end this before a shot went to someone it wasnt meant for. He drew out his tantou and threw it at the barrel of the gun making a bullet back fire. He took the opportunity to rush the disoriented man. Jumping up and slamming his knee into the mans face sending him up a little then letting his leg kick out sending him across the warehouse.
He then turned his attention back to the leader, and began to walk back towards him. Picking up his Tantou on the way to him, and tossed it over to the female. He wasnt sure if it would help but he thought it was a good gesture.

Canary and the knife guy went toe-to-toe. A roundhouse kick from Canary knocked the guy's knife out of his hand, but he dodged out of the way of her spinning back kick. She grabbed a knife that was hurled at her, but not without slashing her palm in the process. Was that from Metal Man? Thanks, dude. I'm helping you out and you toss a knife at me? She took the knife in the hand that wasn't bleeding and lunged at her opponent. He grabbed her wrist and blocked the strike. He tried to move in closer for another strike, but Canary was quicker. She smashed an elbow into his nose, following it up with an uppercut and then a sidekick that knocked him down.
She took the man's rifle and slammed it into the back of one of Metal Man's opponents, knocking him straight into Metal Man. One of the remaining goons turned to face her.
