Aquaman had expected the boy to be fast. After all, he held the name of the man who used to be the fastest in the world, possibly the universe. He had not expected him to be that fast, however. Vaar wasn't used to facing an opponent he could catch with ease. The boy vanished from sight , instinct telling Vaar that he had driven forward for a straight on attack. Vaar bit down on his bottom lip as he attempted to make a decision in no time at all. He could allow the boy to make contact first or he could try and avoid the attack all together. It was a tough call... Vaar exhaled deeply as his decision was made. A grunt emanated from his throat as his footing grew more sure. His trident lashed out, directly in a straight line. If the Flash wanted to meet head on then Aquaman would oblige. Vaar had taken the complete opposite path than what he had original thought to take, opting to catch the man in a counter. If the boy evaded this preemptive strike it would leave Vaar's body essentially unguarded from his relentless assault.
After all, counters seemed the best bet in this situation. The boy could hardly stop in these conditions. Fast speeds and wet linoleum floors did not mix well. Though, Vaar hadn't thought this through in that moment. His stubborn personality and silent vow not to move were the reason for his attack, not his wit. He was a king! And kings did not retreat, did not bend, and did not waiver even in the most trying of circumstances. His trident lashed out as quickly as an eel, prepared to strike it's quarry. The magical energy crackled across it, almost sensing the metaphor that had often been used to describe it.
Vaar expected to meet with some resistance as his royal weapon snaked forward. He silently prayed in Atlantean that the boy would escape any serious harm. He wouldn't be able to live with himself if he harmed a fellow hero. He doubted the other thought that same though. In the Flash's eyes Vaar was probably little more than a would-be villain, an eco-terrorist of some sort. He had no idea that there was another hero so close. He was so focused on the battle he couldn't hear the telepathic cries of his subjects that there was still a human near by, hiding behind a wall. Perhaps it was for the best, though. If he had known he might have resorted to... extreme measures.

As the man stuck out his Trident, Flash sidestepped, slicing his arm across the blade - now at his speed's no doubt the man would be open now - as the force alone of Vaar's trident coming in contact would no doubt send it back so instead of pressing the attack, Flash used this time to wait, spinning around in a blurring motion as the blood dripped from his wound all over the floor into the water. He had to do something about the wound that was burning like acid. As the trident went up, Flash quickly went back up - Using all his speed and strength to attempt to knock this fishie man out as fast as possible... Who knew what those sparks might do or if the blade was poisoned - Even now he was over thinking everything.
This fight was suppose to be a showcase and instead already has him bleeding all over the place. Even if the blow landed, Chris would not just stop and stand there - quickly retreating to where he was. Catching his breath, holding his arm tightly... The pain was bad. Biting his lip roughly.

Emily didn't have to be able to see the blur well in order to tell that the Flash was bleeding. It looked pretty bad though, and that was the thing about super humans. They had pretty strong bodies, but when they did bleed, they bled badly. Emily herself wasn't a super hero, but her body was a bit better than the average girl her age and size as well. She would imagine she'd bleed badly too, though she was superior enough to never have tested that theory.
In any case, she knew that she could no longer stand back anymore. While remaining somewhat hidden, she swiftly threw her pencil tip-first at Aquaman. If her hit landed, it would dig into his shoulder just a bit. Hopefully it would stab him enough to take him off guard. Following this, she ran to the Flash, quickly taking out bandages and some medical supplies out of her backpack. Even though she didn't have her utility belt with her, she could still serve to help him like this.
"Kid Flash! Stand still! Let me wrap that up for you," She said as she approached him, now with some bandages in her hand. She didn't have the time to take out everything she needed to disinfect it, but she could stop the bleeding if she just had a few seconds. Assuming he'd give her his arm, she'd begin to wrap his wound up.

Aquaman had just received a course in surface physics. things in motion tended to stay in motion unless acted upon by an equal or greater force. Vaar hadn't expected the Flash's force to be that great. He was sorry that he hadn't. The feeling of the impact was unexpected and Aquaman hadn't braced himself for such an impact. He fell backwards, crashing into the water, the trident still held tightly in his hands. He blinked, wondering what had happened. He didn't have enough time to finish the thought as the young man was quickly upon him. Vaar felt something collide with his gut in that instant. He blinked, wondering what exactly it was. It took him a few seconds to realize that the boy had driven his fist into his gut. That was probably the boy's biggest mistake, besides underestimating Vaar'en. Punching an Atlantean was like punching a concrete wall. Punching Aquaman was like punching an anvil.
The force was enough to force an "Uff," from the downed Aquaman, but nothing too serious. He winced with pain, knowing that the blow would leave him with a nice bruise for a few days to come. He was grateful to land in the water because the lad had achieved his goal of knocking the wind out of him. If he was forced to breath air he was pretty sure he would have probably toppled over. Water filtered through his body and he felt the pain from the blow lessen and felt a surge of power. Water always seemed to have an energizing effect on him. He laid there for a moment as he collected himself. He muttered something in Atlantean as he remained under water, allowing bubbles to rise to the surface. Vaar shifted and forced himself up with the butt of his trident, his stomach protesting. He growled at it as he continued to right himself. As soon as he got his footing something lashed out from the corner of the room. It thudded against his shoulder and then fell.
He blinked and glanced down to see a small orange shape in the water. It was shaped like a crude spear. He looked toward his armor to see a small dark circle left on it. He brushed it away. What was that? Some sort of human weapon? Was it dangerous? He lightly prodded the strange object with the butt of his trident cautiously. He heard the voice of someone else in the room, but he was more concerned about the weapon. As he looked at it he saw a faint trail of reddened water flowing towards him. He thought nothing of it until he heard something roar in the back of his mind. Oh no, he thought as he whirled around and looked back towards the source of the clamor. Vaar'en hadn't been specific when he had released his kin. He had opened all the cages, expecting to free them with no difficulty. He could feel a wave of water rolling through the prison, something hungry riding on it.
"No!" Vaar'en cried out as he stamped his trident on the ground. The water that was spread around the trio flowed away from them and shot into the air, forming a ring around them, completely devoid of water. The beast that had rode the wave stopped a foot from the bleeding Flash. A large Bull Shark glared at him with hungry eyes. Vaar'en stared down the shark and then bared his teeth at it. It returned the gesture before giving the Flash a hungry look before turning tail and swimming to find bluer waters.

Just then the pain shot though his entire arm as this sent Chris to his knee's - his fist was bleeding not to mention it had felt as if it punched a solid piece of steel at such speed's.... There was no doubt that he had broken quite a few bone's and would be lucky if it actually fully healed. Breathing rougher as A unexpected person came running to him and started to patch him up as he softly smirked. "...I-I'm fine"
He muttered, trying to at least appear tough... But at this point it looked as if he would pass out at any moment. As he looked up towards the 'Aquaman' as he fell back into water - great, he was an idiot - why would he punch him to the water? If only he knew more about the 'alantians' Watching as he played with the pencil Robin...Or rather Emily threw. Breathing rougher, Gently smirking. "I...t-told you it would be easier if you surren-" Just at that very moment the man cried out and slammed his trident into the ground and a huge shark rode the wave and stopped at his very foot, blinking as he was staring into the mouth of a huge bull shark. As It suddenly turned around and swam away - his heart was pounding... He was sure that was it... He might have speed but, that situation happened a bit to fast for his taste - not to mention he was lucky he was even conscious at this point. Okay, So maybe picking a fight with the man was a mistake but he would never admit that. As far as Chris was concerned - He beat the guy...who just happened to be still walking around and screaming and looking perfectly fine... maybe he should have read up on Aquaman, his fist was shaking from the pain it had been dealt. "...G-get out of here, Emily..." He said her name on a mistake as he forced himself to stand up. He only had a few thing's he could do, He could headbutt the man but... more then likely the blow would kill Chris and only knock the man backa few feet again...which was not good or he could kick, which.... would make him just as useless as a fish without water... But, He had to at least make sure Emily got out of here safe first - He couldn't forgive himself if she got hurt because of him asking her out and for him showing off like this. "You know, It feels like I hit a damn titanium plate... Damn your a bit tougher then I thought..." He forced himself to grin, No doubt even his enemy would know his right hand was useless at this point, it looked like crap. The bull shark had been much too close, and Emily hadn't even noticed it until the last second because she was much too busy wrapping up the Flash's wound. However, it seemed they had lucked out as the water receded and Emily finished wrapping up his wound. She had nothing to say. Of course she couldn't admit the shark had scared her. She was going to hold onto her bravado, even outside of her heroine alias.
"You're too hurt to continue fighting by yourself, Flash. I'm going to have to take this one for you. I may look like an ordinary girl, but I'm a pretty good fighter," she insisted to him. She stood up and faced the man of Water. At this point, she still didn't realize he had saved her.
"What's your deal anyway? Why are you destroying this place?"

Vaar'en sighed deeply as the shark turned away from the two that had been so close to the water's edge. He reached up and ran his hand through long, saltwater soaked locks of hair. Humans, they would be the death of Vaar one day. They couldn't even tell when a shark was on it's way. He lowered his hand and eyed the two, hoping that his show of good faith would move them to allow him to leave with little more conflict. He was wrong. The boy dressed in yellow, the young Flash, stood up. Vaar'en felt his heart sink at the display. They boy was bleeding from his left shoulder and his right fist... Vaar'en glanced towards it and then briefly closed his eyes. He knew it was broken. It was a miracle that the force of the impact hadn't shattered it completely. There was little chance of the boy carrying on this fight without putting himself in greater danger. Vaar'en did have to commend his courage though. Despite his injuries he still placed the girl's safety before his own.
Vaar'en unconsciously tipped his trident towards the boy in a quick salute. "You're very brave." he said, not hint of deceit present in his voice. He righted his chosen weapon and watched the two through softening eyes. His cold smile had vanished, replaced by what could only be described as a melancholy frown. He was prepared to tell them to leave, but just as he was the girl stepped up. Emily, that was what the Flash had called her. Vaar'en clicked his tongue silently as she stood up. Were all surfacers so bent on proving themselves. There was no shame in running when the odds were against you. You could always return to fight another day. It didn't particularly matter how good of a fighter she was. Punching a steel wall with more skill didn't mean you would break it any sooner. It simply meant you would break your hands in a much more elegant manner.
"Living under a thousand atmospheres of pressure does that to a body." he said without even thinking. Emily stepped forward and stood beside the Flash, obviously ready to aid him in whatever means necessary. Her words were almost the same as the boy's. "Human's think very little of what they do. These creatures," he said gesturing with his trident. Cued by his telepathic commands all of the sea creatures that could fit surrounded them, sitting at the edges of the wall of water. They were there by the thousands, covering every inch of the wall. "They had a home. They had families. They had their own lives. But they were torn away from that and placed in these cages. Their offspring no nothing of the world they belong in. They exist as shells, brain dead from their captivity only going through the motions of living. Humans see them as little more than as entertainment. How would it look if it were the other way? If humans were locked in cages filled with air for their amusement for my peoples amusement?" Vaar'en spoke softly, but his words hung heavily in the air. He didn't wait for an answer.
"Just like you humans they long to return to their homes. I've come to take them home. I destroy this place because it is a prison for the innocent, because it's little more than slavery. I do this because no one else will. I gave you humans fair warning, I stopped the waters from spreading too dangerously, I even offered you a chance to let me leave in peace. " Aquaman rested his trident against his shoulder and lowered his outstretch hand. "I'll ask again... will you let me leave in peace." he concluded, his silver eyes flickering in the fluorescent lights. Speaking was one of the few kingly skills that Vaar'en had been born with. He rarely used it, but when he did it often stunned the room. He hoped that it would work this time, but he was prepared if it didn't.

He smirked a bit as the man said he was brave. He didn't need to be told that, most people even with powers were to scared to use them for good or evil.... Other's take advantage of their powers. Looking to Emily was she crazy? She had none of her gear, besides - He knew from experience that most weapon's were useless on the man. As Vaar started to speak once more. "As I said before, If it was to free them you could have done so without scaring and destroying the place... From your power display you can manipulate water, so why did you not just take them? Instead, you choose to stand here, and do what you will - A trait shared by tyrant's..."
he said the last bit coldly, Surely this man would follow where he was going. "Don't take me as one of your royal subjects who will bow at a simple speech - How would you like it if I went down there and started destroying your own ...building's..." He said, not knowing what they would call structure's down there. Looking to Emily - The girl wasn't going to back down, He wouldn't either however... his wound's and her being in the middle of a fight with really nothing to defend herself with except her fist's - Even if the girl was good in hand-to-hand combat, This was not the case here. "...As a king your suppose to set an example of your people, Is this how all Atlantean's are?" Clenching his left hand into a fist. "I..." He looked at Emily, He understood why Vaar'en was upset - It was wrong, He always did think so. "...If I do let you go, Will you still attack such public place's?" Not that he would have a fighting chance at this point, but if it meant that some family might lose a loved one or even a friend or anyone - He could not forgive himself for letting the killer go the first time around. "I don't care about the whole freeing fish routine I am perfectly fine with it, But when you could endanger people's live's... That's not cool man. There is way to many outside variables that you can't just assume will go wrong. Structural integrity being one." [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Emily could hardly believe what she was hearing. Flash was just going to let him go? That was ridiculous! It didn't make any sense. If they let him go, surely he'd come back to do his crimes again and destroy perfectly necessary scientific research facilities. This place was one of the only ways people could get first hand knowledge about aquatic animals.
"Are you serious?! You're okay with him just leaving?" Robin looked around. She could see that they were surrounded and didn't have much of a choice. Nonetheless, she felt bad for just sitting back and accepting it. It made her feel weak. Unfortunately, there was no longer anything that she could do about it. Just looking at Flash's wounds, they needed to tend to those first.
"Fine..." she spoke, now turning to Aquaman. "You win. Take your stupid fish."

Kid Flash's words hurt more than any damage he inflicted upon Vaar. A tyrant... that was what he had called him. He glanced towards his subjects and mulled the word over for a bit. "Perhaps... perhaps I was a bit hasty in my decisions." he said as he straightened up. Vaar'en hadn't thought about the ramifications of his actions. He was ignorant of the surface world and it's physics. Undersea there was no electricity to interact with the water, save bio electricity, when buildings collapsed it was a slow process, and Atlanteans could survive having a building fall upon them. Apparently, that wasn't the case with humans. Vaar still had much to learn about the surface world. He listened to the rest of the Flash's speech and gave a slight nod to indicate that he understood.
The girl jumped into the conversation before Vaar could give an honest answer. She apparently had a problem with allowing him to leave. Though, a few moments later she had apparently changed her mind, begrudgingly. Vaar nodded once more before speaking up. "I give you my word." he said, though he doubted that would mean much to either of them. They still probably saw him as a villain. The prospect of that hurt, but it was something he would have to live with. His ignorance of the surface world and the workings of it had caused him to seem careless, cruel even. He shifted his trident in his grasps and touched it to the wall of water. It stirred and the sea life within it swam away, towards the river that connected to the Atlantic Ocean. The salt water pooled, creating an orb of safety for the creatures to travel in, beneath the surface of the river. The task was taxing, but Vaar hid it behind a mask of solemness.
Only a few stagnant pools of water remained. Aquaman looked at the two of them and then bowed deeply. He said something in Atlantean, a formal way of apologizing typically used towards those of high regard. "I've brought shame upon my family and our ways." he said, translating it roughly. The actual apology was incredibly long and had some meanings that Vaar couldn't convey in English. "I'm sorry." he settled with simply. "I wish we could have met on better terms." he said as he returned to his former position. He turned and followed the flowing water towards the river and stopped just at the edge. He turned his head back towards the two and offered them a smile, a display of pearly whites that seemed to convey good cheer. "You make a good Flash." he said before diving into the waters without so much as a splash.
And with that the young king was gone, on his way back to his own word. His encounter had left him much to think about and redefined his views as a hero. Maybe someday soon he could revisit the surface and right the wrongs that he had committed.

Listening to the man, He seemed to understand - At least the look in his eye's was being honest and the man was rather straight forward. Listening to Vaar as he gave his word. As well as saying he brought shame on his family. "...I do hope we get to meet on better term's as well, I would really hate to have to end up like this again..."
He softly smirked as he raised his right hand, listening to him say 'You make a good Flash'. "Of course I do..." He said cockily as the man dived and vanished, Making sure the man had indeed pulled back. "...I trust that he will keep his word...If not....I'll handle it..., As for you Emil-" Catching him this time as he quickly played it off. "P-person, I think it best for you to get out of here..." Great, How was he going to explain this to his mother? Oh hey mom, Ended up getting sliced open by a trident - And while I was at it, I just HAD to punch the guy that's body felt like a fucking titanium wall... He was lucky to even have a hand at this point. It was still shaking as he held it with his other hand... He had done much research on the flashes...Some were said to be able to heal themselves with their power's. He would have to learn this ability, There had to be a better way then letting a criminal go - Not that this man was really a criminal... But, What if he had been? His hand was dead weight, and his other shoulder was stinging like crazy - Luckily the wound almost cauterized itself thanks to the speed he was going but it was burning like crazy. "I guess I should get going!" He acted tough, but anyone that knew wound's would tell he was most likely going to pass out soon. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Emily hated not to be able to say or do anything as Aquaman left. In her eyes, he was still a criminal regardless of what his reasoning had been. Stealing is stealing and it was against the law for a reason. If he wanted to get the fish freed, he should have gone at it by legal methods and protesting. This was not acceptable. Nonetheless, there was nothing else she could do.
On the other hand, she turned to face her ally, Flash... though she paused momentarily after listening to him call her by name. She froze in shock. How had she not noticed that he had been calling her by name for all of this time? How did he even know her name unless he had been spying on her recently... then again, she was rather well known around these parts, being the grandaughter of Bruce Wayne and all. Perhap;s she shouldn't think too much into it. She didn't want to. Someone's secret identity was sacred, and if she poked and prodded at his identity, she would be breaking the super hero code. She shook it off and decided not to ask. If he was someone she already knew, she didn't want to know. Still, she couldn't help other than to wonder who he was.
"But I can't let you go like this... you're hurt. I'll take you home with me and treat those injuries, okay?"

He softly sighed, oh how he wanted to come up with something witty and make a pass at her once more - but, he was in to much pain. Looking at her and then back to the exit. "....f-fine..."
He said, slightly defeated - He did so many stupid thing's in one evening... He was lucky the man did not kill him. Chris needed to get stronger, He needed to do something that would change the game for him - He had been fine handling the little criminals but an actual fight like with the fish dude... Snapped him awake quickly. "...I can't say I woulden't like to go home with you..." He said smuggly finally saying his little line he wanted to say as he smirked a bit. Walking forward, Looking at his shoulder as hee groaned. "Great...and I just fixed the dang thing..." He rrubbed his chin - more work, Crimefighting in itself was tiring but when you went though suits like he did it was in itself a hastle. "...And where might you live? Maybe it is best if I take you home... Since...well, I don't feel so good..." He smiled weakily, He would rather take his chances running to Wayne Manor rather then simply walking and passing out. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

She felt that she and already figured out who this Flash guy was. He had given her too many clues, and the very last clue he had given her was the best one. Most of the people who knew her by reputation would have had an idea, at least, of where she lived. Perhaps she was reading much too much into him, but she had her suspicions that the Flash was actually the same boy whom she had come here with in the first place. She wasn't going to say anything, but she felt pretty sure. This was quite possibly something that they shouldn't discuss in the first place.
"About 2 miles north of here," she answered him. "And i guess you're right. It'd definitely be a lot faster if you did,"

Hearing her state where she lived, he nodded - and quickly picked her up and before they knew it they were traveling - pretty fast but still not as fast as he normally traveled since he didn't want to hurt her, well...and that he was injured. As he finally pulled to a stop right on the footstep of Wayne Manor breathing heavily. "...Thank you....for the help back there..."
He smiled a bit looking to the bandage she had put on, maybe it had been a bit more serious then he originally thought as blood was already showing all over the bandage. "...And sorry for getting you involved Missy" He said quietly, Reminding himself not to call her by name again. Looking at his right hand, He did not know when he would actually be able to even use the thing at this point. Realizing he was still holding her up he carefully placed her down his cheek's a bit red at that point. [/blockquote][/blockquote]
